Er fährt 40,195 km, also genau 2km weniger als die Marathondistanz.
Seine am 8.1.05 in Manchester gefahrenen 41,817km galten nicht als Rekord weil sie noch nicht voll dem UCI-Regelement entsprachen.

Posted February 15, 2009

British Darren Kenny has broken the Para-Cycling Athletes Hour Record during the Copenhagen round of the Track World Cup on 14th February.

Kenny is a four times Gold medalist from the Paralympic Games in Beijing 2008 and has several World Championships to his name. Kenny backed the record, reaching the distance of 40.195 meters on the Track in Ballerup Super Arena.

"I had everything under control, but it was a very tough race for me. I'm very pleased with the bike, wich I only got yesterday. Everything was fine", was the reply from an exhausted Kenny.

"This has been a great challenge for me since the Paralympics, but also a very tough one", Kenny ended.
